What is OT?
Occupational Therapy (OT) has been recognized as a form of treatment for those experiencing mental health difficulties in the UK since the 1930s. The word 'occupation' refers to all activities in a person's life. Tasks, big or small, are considered occupations. OT focuses on self-care, productivity, leisure, and social aspects for those struggling with mental health.
An Occupational Therapist assists individuals in recognising their abilities and areas needing improvement. By working collaboratively, they enhance confidence in tasks that are difficult for the person.
OT is all about you, exploring your world and building a life you truly want to live for. It looks at overcoming barriers in a graded, gradual way that works for you. It provides individuals with an opportunity to problem solve, feel empowered and grow, regardless of the challenges they may be facing.
OT asks the question: ‘Who are you and what do you want for yourself?’ and then it helps you to get yourself there.

The
Flow Process
-
The first step is to complete the form on the ‘Getting Booked In’ page. I’ll review your form in working hours and be in touch to book in a consultation call.
The call will be to get a bit of a feel for where you’re at with your journey and to see if Flow is the right service for you.
-
This is a 60 minute appointment to really get to know you, your skills & your difficulties as well your current level of functioning. We will then establish some OT goals together.
Depending on your needs, the assessment and goal setting process may take longer than one session.
This type of appointment can take place over the phone, via Zoom or face-to-face in your home or chosen community space (up to 15 miles of SO50 for face-to-face - see Pricing Structure for face-to-face costs).

You’ll be offered 4-6 review sessions which last up to 45 minutes. These will be an opportunity to talk through your challenges & achievements as well as explore some mental health and wellbeing strategies.
These sessions can take place over the phone, via Zoom or face-to-face in your home or chosen community space (up to 15 miles of SO50 for face-to-face - see Pricing Structure for face-to-face costs).
